Tony Krupicka, who won the 2006 Leadville Trail 100 in his first summer of ultramarathons, did it again last weekend, and he knocked more than 47 minutes off his time, finishing in 16:14:35. The 24-year-old from Colorado Springs has now run the second- and third-fastest times ever on Leadville's grueling course, which tops out at 12,600 feet. He's also closed within 32 minutes of the seemingly unbeatable record that Matt Carpenter set in 2005.
But could he do it while joggling?
I guess I should have known that joggling is a sport. According to those know-it-alls at Wikipedia , several Indian tribes joggled in olden days. Owen Morse (pictured at right) ran an 11.68 100-meter dash while juggling three balls. (The piker slowed to 13.8 seconds with five balls.) Zach Warren joggled a 2:52 marathon. So, Tony Krupicka, you may be a rising star, but have you got the balls to run a mountain ultra this way?
(Tip of the hat to GoBlog for the joggling links.)

But Could He Do It While Joggling?

i've not heard of joggling, but it looks mighty dangerous. what happens if a car or bike comes your way, but all you can see is balls in the sky?
hi! are you from UK?
you aren't supposed to say 'balls' on the intreanet.
I'm amazed. Is that your picture? That guy has no beard, but his arms are completely defined.
Have you done a Marathon or half Marathon joggling? What does one do to train for this? Perhaps you should write a book.
There are a number of people who do joggling marathons, including me. Actually, I'm going to do the Chicago Lakefront 50 miler while joggling. The world record is 8:52 which I hope to break. Then next year, it's the 100 miler.
My fastest marathon is 3:22 while joggling but the world record is 2:52.
Joggling...sport of the future.
Joggle on
Maxxo,
It's not too dangerous. If you're good you don't actually have to look at the balls much. You look through the balls and rely on your peripheral vision to avoid dropping. I've gone through an entire marathon without having a single drop. (San Diego 2005).

Fascinating stuff!
I have a feeling that some people don't take this unique sport seriously, but I'd say that anyone who can do this has definitely managed to awaken and use more parts of their mind than those of us who just read about it.
that's a good stuff. Saddly her in mexico, people is not ud¿sed to practice... but there many other (like me) who enjoy that kind of activity.
congratulations by the blog

Almost sent me wild.
Its yet another proof that just any guy who's crazy about his dreams can actually hit the stars!

Joggling... that's amazing!
Seems like I've heard about Native Americans doing that before.
But... 11.68! Simply amazing.
*smile*
hmmm i bet i could do that whilst eating fire and reading victorian romantic poems to a street urchin dressed as a cat. I'm multitalented you see.
Just an update.
In October 2007, the world record for joggling a 50 mile ultra marathon was broken. I ran 50 miles joggling in 8:23:52.
Maybe the 100 miler will be done next year.
