Annals of Obsession: Update

Bill Wright has completed his Longs Peak project: climbing the 14,259-foot monarch of the Colorado Front Range via a different route each month during a single calendar year. Wright made 14 ascents in 2008, with only one failure (an attempt on the Diamond in winter), and he climbed an estimated 80,000 vertical feet in all conditions. On December 6 he completed the quest via the arduous Keplinger's Couloir on the south face. (The photo shows the upper mountain looking Patagonian during a brief clearing on December 7, from Black Lake in Glacier Gorge.) Check out Wright's website for the full story, trip reports, and interesting stats. A remarkable, unprecedented feat.
